Requirements: Strong EE fundamentals, including familiarity with electrical architecture, lithium batteries, power electronic technologies, and prototyping through deploying

Location: This job can be based in Boulder, CO or Austin, TX

Overview

The right individual for this role will take ownership of the life cycle for the product's initial concept, to prototyping and testing, through full scale production. This is a hands-on position that will require working cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, and software engineers across their engineering team, helping to refine their designs, test its reliability and drive manufacturing, while tracking and managing project costs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design schematics, perform circuit analysis/simulation, design for high reliability, and design for manufacturing
  • PCB layout and development, including high-speed digital, mixed-signal and power
  • Bring-up new electrical systems for the first time, hands-on debug and optimization
  • Support PCBA assembly and manufacturing, while collaborating with vendors to find solutions that reduce cost and improve quality

Required Experience

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 5+ years of PCB and electrical system design experience
  • Experience with firmware development in C for ARM microcontrollers
  • Experience with circuit simulation in SPICE (or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with Solidworks, Inventor, &/or Fusion360
  • Able to deliver under pressure and operate within challenging startup time constraints
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

  • Altium
  • Bonus points for candidates with existing robotics experience, camera and inertial measurement system exposure and EV or automotive electronics design experience
