Manager, B2B Marketing and Demand Generation

We are looking for an experienced (8+ years) marketer to lead our B2B marketing efforts and demand generation. This role is hands-on and will be the first dedicated marketing hire on the team. You will have the opportunity to build our content, organic and paid channels and marketing efforts to acquire new customers for Cluster.

On-Site Review

Cluster is currently working remotely from 9-6pm PST. In 2021 we expect to work in an office 2 days per week.

Breakdown of Role

  • 50% of this role is dedicated to content creation and writing
  • 20% to scaling programs (marketing automation, contractors) 
  • 15% to strategy and analytics 
  • 15% paid programs and miscellaneous

Performance-based Goals

  • Build repeatable and scalable marketing programs that attract and convert potential customers (automotive, space, aviation companies) into qualified leads
  • Create inbound marketing content, such as downloads, white papers, blog posts, and webinars, to attract and convert customers from paid, partner and sales channels
  • Develop a robust marketing toolkit for our sales team that improves their ability to attract and convert qualified leads.
  • Build campaigns across organic, social and paid marketing channels to build awareness and interest in Cluster

You’ll define the strategy and have the freedom to develop and grow effective programs. You’re the type of person who likes to roll up your sleeves to do the groundwork of ideating, writing and delivering great inbound marketing content, and then building systems to scale up the winners. You thrive in environments where you can set your own course and adapt your plans to a constantly evolving environment. You are willing to experiment and iterate in order to deliver innovative, best-in-class work and you love owning your piece of the business and having responsibility for your results.

Who shouldn’t apply

This is not a good position for someone who is looking for stability, consistency or who needs a lot of direction and support. Or for someone who feels that they should get an “A” for effort. 

Preferred Experience

  • Background developing successful content campaigns that attract highly technical audiences (engineering, finance/economics, sciences, etc.)
  • You were an early marketing hire at a startup (<30 people) or on a small team and were able to create clarity and direction in an unstructured environment.
  • Experience working in a data-driven environment focused on conversion funnels
  • Primary user of marketing automation systems, e.g., Marketo, Hubspot, Salesforce, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and launch effective inbound content from scratch 
  • Managed content development teams, including writing, video, podcasts, etc. 
  • Strong writing, editing and interviewing skills (you will have to write for this role)
